#1 - 1959 Jaguar Mk.9
Jaguar are known for making the best looking cars in the United Kingdom, and the 1959 Mk.9 is a prime example of their design prowess. The generous chrome details make it a guaranteed head-turner while the regal lines showcase the transition from more traditional car design, based on coaches to the far more streamlined vehicles we see today. There's also more than meets the eye with the Mk.9 however, it was far ahead of its Rolls Royce and Bentley counterparts at the time, boasting power steering and all-wheel disk brakes.
This particular Mk.9, aptly named "The Duchess", boasts a spacious interior with wood finishes and a silvery coat only found on modern Jaguars. The Duchess takes first place thanks to her simply gorgeous lines, beautiful yet neutral silver colour, which makes her perfect for any wedding and the fact that even considering her pedigree, she won't break the bank.
Built by the King of European automakers, Bentley, the Mk.VI was a vehicle favoured by the rich and famous due to its luxurious handling and sporty capabilities (it could output an impressive 150 bhp off the production line). This Mk.VI is an original and beautifully maintained example of this exclusive luxury vehicle. The white coat offers a more traditional option for your wedding while the beautiful chrome grill and vintage curves are sure to have everyone staring in envy as you drive past.
#3 - 1964 Rolls Royce SCIII
If Bentley is the King of automobiles, then Rolls Royce is the Emperor. Like its modern counterparts, the 1964 Rolls Royce SCIII (Silver Cloud 3) was created specifically for the mega-wealthy. As a result, no expense was spared.
Like all Rolls Royces, this vehicle boasts a premium leather interior with fantastic finishes and magnificent chrome details. Featuring a powerful 6.2L V8 motor, this regal beauty doesn't shy on performance either. The two-tone black and silver coat are a smart complement to any wedding theme. If you want the best of the best, and you have a sizeable budget, then this is the vehicle for you.
#4 - 1948 Buick Super 8
You don't see many Buicks around these days. That's because this incredibly successful automobile manufacturer established General Motors, the American automobile giant that now owns Chevrolet, Cadillac and others. The 1948 Buick Super 8 is a throw-back to the economic boom just after World War 2, where American vehicles were big, bold and beautiful.
This fine example of a Super 8 features a fantastic blue coat which looks marvellous at any blue or white themed wedding. If the brilliant blue coat doesn't have every head turning, then the bold chrome grill and bumper should do the trick. This Super 8 is finished off with a perfectly suited tan leather interior which will have you wondering why modern cars don't look half as good. The Buick Super 8 is a true work of art and will bolster any similarly coloured wedding theme.
Rover was a British manufacturer of entry-level luxury vehicles. Rovers were so popular at one point that even the Queen of England and Grace Kelly bought one. The Rover P4 featured suicide doors (the rear doors open backward) making it far easier to get in and out of the car with a large dress. Despite being one of the most affordable luxury vehicles in our catalogue, this smart saloon also boasts an immaculate white interior and lovely wood finishes that will keep you feeling like true royalty as you're chauffeured to your wedding day.
#6 - 1964 Jaguar Mk.2
The Mk.2 is another fantastic example of Jaguar's design capabilities. The gentle rounded curves and flowing aerodynamic lines are evident of the automobile design revolution taking place at the time. This more modern shape was complemented by generous chrome details and wire wheels to remind onlookers that the Mk.2 is an exclusive vehicle. Built as a luxury sports saloon, she boasts a purring 3.8 L straight-6 motor while still comfortably seating 4 passengers in her leather upholstered and wood finished interior.
This Mk.2 has been coated in a modern silver Jaguar paint, making it a sparkling addition to wedding photos and an unmissable jaw dropper while still being a very affordable option.
#7 - 1967 Mustang Fastback
If your idea of the perfect wedding car is Rock 'n Roll and a roaring V8, then the Mustang is by far your best bet. The Mustang is one of the most iconic sports vehicles around and is widely recognized as the King of Cool after featuring in several unforgettable Hollywood car chases such as Bullitt and Gone in 60 Seconds. The Mustang achieved this fame due to a combination of being the first ever muscle car and due to its somehow simultaneously gorgeous and fierce looks. Even though Mustangs have only ever been built with 2 doors, they do come equipped with a rear seat and can comfortably seat 3 passengers in addition to the driver.
The 1967 Mustang Fastback is arguably the pinnacle of the Mustang lineage. With just the right amount of chrome detailing, sharp lines and not too much bulk (the later Mustangs were chunky beasts!). This beautiful specimen boasts a gurgling 5.7L V8 motor that will happily let out a loud roar to let everyone know you've just arrived at your wedding venue while the refurbished modern sound system plays off your favourite classic Rock tunes. It's also the only known '67 Fastback in the Cape area, so it's the perfect one of a kind vehicle for a bride and groom looking for something especially cool.
#8 - 1938 MG VA Tickford Coupe
One of the oldest vehicles on our catalogue, the 1938 MG VA Tickford Coupe is a true vintage that harks back to the bygone pre-war era of coach-like bodies, large chrome grills and wire spoke wheels. MG was originally a division of Morris Motors and was later incorporated into the British Motor Company. The MG VA was a light-weight, sporty vehicle for its time, while still featuring all the bells and whistles a premium driver could afford.
This original Tickford Coupe is like a museum on wheels. The crank-handle slot, leather-strapped spare wheel, pop-out indicators and vintage wooden interior offer a truly unique experience. In fact, it's quite easy to spend an hour looking over this 80-plus year-old vehicle. Aside from being a showstopper, this Tickford's black and white colours make it perfect for a smart and stylish wedding theme, almost like it's wearing a suit!
#9 - 1965 VW Kombi
This post wouldn't be complete without at least one Kombi. And it's safe to say that the VW Kombi doesn't need much of an introduction, as you still see many vintage and modern Kombis on the roads today. This is testament to their incredibly brilliant and robust engineering which has resulted in vintage Kombis becoming increasingly valuable.
Why a Kombi for you wedding? The Kombi offers a less flashy, more cute and retro-cool option for your wedding day. If that's not what you're looking for, it's spacious seating may still be a great and cost-effective option to transport your retinue.
This split-window mint green Kombi is the perfect vehicle for a wedding with Earthy colours and you will certainly have no issue fitting a large dress into its spacious interior.
From the dawn of the space race, a time when the moon was just over the horizon, American ambitions were high and their spaceship-like cars reflected this. The '57 Chevy is a spectacular example of the fantastical automobile design of the 50's. The extensive chrome details look like sleek rocket engines while the vehicle is large enough to fit a couple of fully clad astronauts in (with space to spare for your dress!). The two-tone pink and white coat fit perfectly on this retro machine and make it the ideal choice for a similarly themed wedding.
